What is Hyperhidrosis?

“Hyperhidrosis is a disorder that defines individuals who sweat more than the body would normally need to maintain optimal temperature”. (Hyperhidrose – Association canadienne de dermatologie, 2019)

It is commonly described as excessive sweating of the armpits, hands and/or feet.

Therapeutic Botulinum Toxin (BOTOX®) Treatment

Epiderme Laser clinic offers a treatment of hyperhidrosis by botulinum toxin type A (BOTOX®) injections. The latter consists of several small injections of botulinum toxin type A (BOTOX®) on the areas affected by hyperhidrosis:

  • Underarms (axillary hyperhidrosis)
  • Hands (palmar hyperhidrosis)
  • Feet (plantar hyperhidrosis)

Covered by Health Insurances

The Régie de l’Assurance Maladie du Québec (RAMQ) and several private insurance companies agree in certain cases to reimburse the cost of a hyperhidrosis treatment after receiving the application form.
